ChemVolt Global Strengthens India–Sri Lanka Strategic Dialogue, Exploring Long-Term Investment in Energy and Maritime Infrastructure

New Delhi/Columbo: ChemVolt Global has reinforced its commitment to expanding regional clean energy partnerships following a high-level meeting between Mr. Kuldeep Gupta, CEO of ChemVolt Global, and Her Excellency, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India. The engagement underscored the growing strategic relationship between India and Sri Lanka and explored new avenues for cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and sustainable economic development.
During the meeting, Mr. Gupta presented his acclaimed book, A Journey from Black Gold to White Gold: Oil to Lithium, highlighting the global transition from conventional hydrocarbons to lithium, battery technologies, and renewable energy.
The discussions reflected on the deep historical and cultural ties between India and Sri Lanka, while recognizing the expanding economic partnership between the two nations. Her Excellency highlighted the momentum created by recent high-level engagements between the leadership of both countries, which continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
Mr. Gupta expressed ChemVolt Global’s interest in exploring long-term investments in Sri Lanka’s energy and power sector, including renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and future sustainable infrastructure projects. He also conveyed his intention to visit Sri Lanka in early August to advance discussions with key stakeholders and evaluate strategic investment opportunities.
Recognizing Sri Lanka’s pivotal location in the Indian Ocean, the dialogue also emphasized the country’s growing importance as a regional maritime and logistics hub. Both sides acknowledged the significant potential for enhanced collaboration in ports, shipping, and clean energy infrastructure to support regional trade connectivity and economic resilience.
The meeting marks an important milestone in strengthening the India–Sri Lanka partnership and reflects a shared vision of accelerating sustainable investment, enhancing energy security, and fostering resilient regional growth across South Asia.
